The Lawnmower Blenny is a very popular algae eating blenny. Also referred to as the Jewelled Rockskipper, Lawnmower, or Rock Blenny, the Sailfin/Algae Blenny is native to the reefs across the Indo-Pacific. These fish have tons of personality. They make an excellent addition to any reef tank. Like other Blennies, the Lawnmower Blenny will perch on live rock, hide in caves, hop across the substrate, and graze on microalgae. Therefore, it requires a larger system with a variety of live rock and rockwork. The Lawnmower is aptly named for its ability to mow down hair algae. They should be offered algae sheets on a regular basis if regular algae growth is not available.
